IMO the new perma sf build is better than PB ever was. Except with PB you could aggro eerything on map and go afk for like 15 hours and come back and it would be in the exact same spot you left it in, of course assuming you didn't disconnect.

The only thing I have to say about this relating to ectos since the other thread is closed is that some may give up on wanting to get their FoW.I have an officer who wanted FoW for his Ele his main char.He wasn't getting any ecto drops when going down there as myself he gave up on his Ele and got his Monk some acient from Elona.
This player played the game right with all charactors not getting any runs and doing all missions and quests. This is what he recieved he hasn't played in a few months although still remains an officer in my guild as has stuck it out side by side with me.He did this through grouping not farming in the UW as it is meant to be and he wasted his time doing this.
This bears nothing to those who are doing it right by partying it up and go and clear the UW.I don't see to much with ursan groups atleast they are grouping. When GW 2 comes out the prices will hit rock bottum and those that don't have their sets of FoW may get them then.
I don't see how SF is effecting the GW economy as prices were at 5.5K this morning.

I don't think it will ruin anything, I think easier farming would help the economy if anything. People will have money now!! I been selling alot of stuff lately, more than usually it seems. I been getting rid of stuff quickly. I don't think ecto drops will hurt prices of items at all, if anything it will help people make money so we can sell stuff easier. I think the last update was one of the best things Anet ever did to be honest, that and including the new skill balance system. People are actually having fun again in the game, why take away such a good thing? Things don't seem so far out of reach, like FoW armor and Chaos Gloves. Yes, more people will probably have those armors, but why not? whats wrong with people getting themselves nice stuff to feel better about playing the game? If you take away all that, less people would play, and Anet would be cattering to the rich... Richer get richer, poorer get poorer. Props to Anet, they finally doin something right these days. Anet is finally on the right track to make their games waaaay more successful.. with all these great new changes, its kinda making me alot more excited about GW2. They continue on the road to gameplay perfection... we can expect bigger and better things to come.
Prices will not go down, because people are making more money, if anything some prices might go up a bit from people having money and trying to outbid eachother. The only reason why prices go down for items, is when an Item is over farmed such as Ele Swords... thats the only reason anything goes down in prices, the more people have them the cheaper they get. In this case, Ectos have nothing to do with any of that. Best rethink your whole argument.
If it really bothers you that much that people are actually having alot more fun playing GW, then go play another game where people can be miserable such as yourself. I also don't really see the point in people complaining about good things that happen in the game? Take away all the good things, then what are you left with? jack shit thats what. Also, Gw is not a way of life, its a way to entertain ourselves, and thats means we are supposed to have FUN! Knuckleheads I tell ya...

As nihilist / environmentalist, I don't care about economy, nor in game, nor in real life. Ecto's price already dropped from 10k to 5k, that's half of it's original price. So do I care about that it drop another half. Well, I care somehow since, then there will be more Obsidian armors = they price is dropped.
Aww well...

Unless ecto drops below 4k, I don't really care that much. And I doubt that will happen, since the price has been like this since duping started...and if duping can't lower the price any more than it is, then NOTHING can.

Saying that SF will destroy the economy is like saying that dropping a nuke on a town that already had a nuke dropped on it will destroy the town...
The town is already leveled.

And this sums up the problem with what this game has turned into.

Indeed.
And FoW armour is supposed to be something of a chore/expense to attain. While not the prestigious monument it used to be, it's still enough of an achievement (especially for the not so hardcore).
Making it an easier acquisition is never a good thing.

lmao well any person who thinks it will destroy the economy is wrong its actually invigorating it. Radiant insigs are rocketing up and all shadow runes are unavailable and any greedy person like me would see the minute ectos drop to 4.5k there would be a mad dash to buy em up thus returning them to an average 5k everytime.

The economy may experience some inflationary pricing at some levels however lets not forget that ectos are also consumable. Many people farming ectos are simply doing it for the armor. How will my set of armor affect the buying and selling of other items?

Yeah, it's what 120 ecto for a full set of FoW? Some people are also just hording their stacks of ectos, so not every ecto is being sold to people or the trader.

Only problem is for those that can't adjust to change. It's very simple once again if you don't like the game, don't play the game.

So if they nerf [skill]shadow form[/skill] , i'll be back to the good old VwK (and many others).
so it won't be 10 ecto's a run , it will be 5-8 boohooo really .

Get over it and have fun
Red Sonya you are right and also it is just a game .And heres a little story to tell people how to get over sf:
Last sunday me and a few guildies wanted to finish urgoz, and we decided to try and go without ursan(amazing another contraversal skill),I went a caster dervish ,and the others went barragers.Entered the mission killed the pop ups went to the first mob, ended up agroing the whole room and in a furiously funny fight we wiped .We were all laughing and even one suggested we try on HM.since the fun was over and we wanted it finished we resorted to plan ursan (ironic huh).
Hidden Message:Why complain about a certain skill when there are hundreds which can be put togther to make a fun build

There have always been people farming ectos. There have always been people hording ectos. With stable merchant prices the economy cannot deviate but so much in any direction. Regular players will always be able to get what they need to play the game.
There is nothing to fuss about.
